On a High Mountain - An Elderly Couple Collected 85 Kg of Walnuts and Baked Baklava

Today in our mountain village, we collect 85 kg of walnuts, carry heavy sacks down steep slopes, show part of our walnut harvest for winter, and finish with outdoor cooking and traditional Azerbaijani baklava. From the first walnuts gathered in the forest to the final tea table, every step is done by hand. We walk into the mountains, collect walnuts from the trees and the ground, carry the harvest home, wash and prepare the nuts, and show how part of the crop can be kept for winter. Then we turn the fresh kernels into a traditional sweet, making dough, preparing the filling, baking, pouring syrup, and finally sharing the dessert together with hot tea from a samovar. If you enjoy real village life, seasonal work, and traditional food made over firewood, this video shows the full process from harvest to dessert. Here we cook with firewood, build our own tandoors and clay ovens, and use ingredients we grow ourselves. There is no electricity or gas — just fire, hands, and family. This is not a show or a staged video — this is how we really live. If you support our journey, like and subscribe. #simvillagecooking #mountainvillage #walnutharvest #outdoorcooking #baklava
