They Descended From a High Mountain and Carried 160 kg of Harvest Home

Experience authentic rural life as a mountain couple turns 160 kg of fresh garden produce into 45 jars through traditional food preservation and canning tomatoes for winter. This video follows the demanding harvest season in a remote mountain field, where the couple gathers ripe tomatoes and long green and red hot peppers. After filling four wooden crates weighing about 40 kg each, they carry the harvest little by little from the field, along the mountainside, and up to the road. An off-road vehicle helps transport the heavy harvest to their countryside household. The tomatoes and peppers are carefully washed before the home food preservation process begins. Using traditional methods, the couple prepares three different winter preserves with whole tomatoes, sliced tomatoes, hot peppers, vegetables, and fresh herbs. By the end of the day, about 45 large jars are sealed and stored in the cellar for winter. The remaining tomatoes are transformed into a rich homemade sauce served with pasta for dinner. This authentic garden-to-table story captures rural living, mountain farming, seasonal harvesting, canning tomatoes, and the hard work behind producing food at home.
